Theme: You've been banished to a strange new land with nothing to your name. Now is your chance to reinvent yourself and recover your honour!⠀

Mechanics: On your turn, you choose four action cards from your hand to play and these determine what ways you engage with the game and how to gain standing in the various guilds. The Guild Action allows you to interact with one of the six guilds around the board and each one has three types of actions which varies depending upon your guild standing. The interesting part is the way in which the guilds are connected to each other (like in a circle) and so influencing one to manipulate another is a fascinating puzzle. You'll find that all of your actions are meaningful and playing things in the right order is incredibly important.⠀

Set Up: Setting this up for the first time was daunting but even by the second play it seemed much more straightforward. This is a long game so expect to set aside an afternoon to really enjoy it.⠀

Aesthetics: Feudum is nothing short of a masterpiece. Its whimsical art style is very distinctive and how it uses colours makes it a delight to engage with. The components are wonderful and it all feels expensive and well-considered. ⠀

Review: I've not played Feudum enough to really review it fully. BUT here are my first impressions. This game requires time and dedication. It has some issues graphically (with colours and things marked on the board.) However, that doesn't deter me in the slightest. The game that's here is unique, well thought out and interesting and engaging to play. I'm already thinking about what I'll do the next time and I know it'll get better the more I get to grips with it. Feudum has it going on, but getting to that point of where play is easy is challenging.⠀
